Oh Father
Oh father, Oh father,
Thanks for marrying, such a loving mother,
Oh father, oh father,
Sometimes I wonder, why you even bother,
Giving us what we want,
And helping us with what we need,
Setting goals, and expectations, that no other kid could dream,
You let us live life, without a clue,
That you’re too good for anyone,
Anyone with a Ph.D., anyone with a brain,
Anyone who is even as bright as Thomas Paine.
Oh father, Oh father,
Life is getting so much harder,
I realize things, and learn things,
But everyone knows, it’s because,
You helped me through the bad,
Congratulated me through the good,
And taught me things, that no one else could,
Like how to live life, and not be afraid,
And how to walk, when you’re in a parade.
Oh father, Oh father,
You rock like no other,
Thanks for helping me when I was stubborn.
We all know, you’re the best father!
